Why your role matters

The Senior Program Officer, Graduate Futures, plays a crucial role within the Division of Education & Student Experience, specifically under the Experience Pillar's Employability theme. This position is responsible for providing high-level support and overseeing the implementation of various programs, projects, and initiatives. These include the stewardship and accreditation of co-curricular activities and professional development opportunities, which are recognized by UNSW Advantage and featured on the Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS).

The Senior Program Officer manages the day-to-day Employability reporting and processes and plays an active role in the execution of key UNSW Employability events, programs, and initiatives. The position involves building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships, analysing data and delivering insights. 

This role reports to the Lead, Graduate Futures, and does not have direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Oversee information collection, analysis, and reporting to enable data driven insights, scalability, efficiencies, and an improved student experience.
  • Develop, update, and optimise interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data analysis needs, deliver comprehensive solutions, and ensure data governance compliance and accuracy in all analytical processes.
  • Develop and monitor the delivery of UNSW Employability projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.

About You:  

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and with initiative to identify, analyse and resolve administrative issues ensuring effective outcomes and process improvements.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and databases, and experience using data visualization tools such as PowerBi.
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail with proven ability to work according to strict deadlines and to manage competing demands with judgement and initiative.
  • Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success building and maintain positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
