Why your role matters
In this pivotal role, you will support the coordination and promotion of a wide range of educational programs, projects, and initiatives that drive forward the University's strategic priorities in education and student experience.
You will be involved in the planning and delivery of key initiatives, creating engaging communications and promotional content, and contributing to community outreach efforts. A key aspect of the role is developing and maintaining strong relationships across the University and with external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects and events. Your work will span event coordination, marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement, all aimed at enhancing the student experience and supporting UNSW’s strategic goals.
Reporting to the Manager of Educational Engagement, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Co-ordinate and support the delivery and promotion of portfolio’s educational programs, projects, events, activities and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Develop and disseminate high quality content for promotional materials and relevant stakeholder communications relating to portfolio’s programs, projects and engagement initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive, practical and proactive co-ordination and support to programs, projects and initiatives.
- Maintain websites, program and event management systems, and communication platforms for small and large-scale mailouts, registrations and post-event administration, along with insights and analytics for evaluation and reporting.
- Co-ordinate workshops, seminars, training, forums, meetings and events.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced communication skills, including demonstrated experience in content writing, editing, and proofreading, along with the ability to research and analyse material and data to summarise key issues for use in official communications, promotions and reports.
- Creative content development skills, and experience in designing promotional campaigns and developing digital content for web and social channels, including demonstrated ability to tailor content and messaging to audiences & channels.
- Demonstrated experience in event/project/program co-ordination with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans and objectives including managing logistics, promotions, communications, documentation and reporting.
- Strong service orientation and “client” focus, together with high-level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff at all levels and internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, analytics and reporting tools for digital communications, and web content management.
