Who are we

Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) is a community legal centre providing free legal advice and assistance to our local community and to people across New South Wales. Our team of solicitors provide advice on matters such as Domestic Violence, Credit and Debt, Victim’s Compensation, Criminal Law, Employment Law, and Discrimination Law.

Why this role matters

The Community Outreach Lawyer/Clinical Supervisor will provide advice, casework and community legal education in areas of law relevant to our service with a focus on community outreaches and engagement with our local community. This role includes working into KLC’s Health Justice Partnership (HJP) with Prince of Wales Hospital/Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service and our existing and any new community outreaches. The role also includes supervising evening advice sessions and working into KLC’s legal practice.

The position primarily works in the community to ensure access to KLC’s service, and fostering relationships, pathways and collaborations with our local community, and community organisations across all aspects of KLC’s work. We are looking for an experienced lawyer who has worked in the community before, as this role will involve mostly offsite work. The role also helps vulnerable people through our HJP in hospital settings and responding to community needs, therefore vaccination clearance will be required.

This position works closely with UNSW Sydney law students teaching them in a best practice clinical legal education model. The role reports to the Deputy/ Director and has no direct reports.
