The Opportunity
Join the Faculty of Engineering as an Industrial Training Advisor, a key role within the Engineering Industrial Team that ensures UNSW Engineering students gain professional experience and are work-ready upon graduation. In this dynamic position, you'll deliver high-level administrative support, specialist advice, and exceptional service across student communications, documentation, and data management. You’ll coordinate meetings and events, respond to a wide range of student and stakeholder enquiries, and ensure compliance with UNSW’s Work Integrated Learning policies. This role contributes significantly to streamlining processes and enhancing service delivery, while providing accurate guidance to Engineering students preparing for Industrial Training. As part of a dedicated team, you will support the coordination and administration of the Industrial Training Program, which serves over 6,000 students annually.
This role reports to the Work Integrated Learning Industrial Training Manager and has no direct reports.
- Salary, Level 5: $88,717 to $100,386 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills with a proven ability to identify, analyse and resolve standard administrative issues.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with a willingness and capacity to contribute positively and proactively to a team.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
