UNSW Medicine & Health is a national leader in learning, teaching and research, with close affiliations to several of Australia’s finest hospitals, research institutes and health care organisations. With a strong presence at UNSW Kensington campus, the faculty have staff and students in teaching hospitals in Sydney as well as regional and rural areas of NSW including Albury/Wodonga, Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
It is a very exciting time to be joining the Faculty with an ambitious new faculty strategy soon to be launched and many faculty staff moving into the new Health Translation Hub building over the coming weeks.
Why this role matters
This position will play an integral role within UNSW Medicine & Health in providing dedicated executive support to the Faculty Executive and other key stakeholders. The role entails leading administration and operations for the Faculty Office, providing advice on appropriate governance structures to support effective decision making and ensuring activities are compliant with UNSW requirements. The Executive Officer significantly contributes to strategic and operational projects across UNSW Medicine & Health.
Key skills required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Proven experience in project management in higher education or equivalent level of knowledge gained through education/training and/or experience.
- High level organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proven organisational skills and the ability to operate autonomously while demonstrating strong initiative and a proactive approach to driving process improvement.
- Ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
