The Opportunity

  • $110,073-$119,132 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
  • Full-time (35 hrs week) | Fixed term contract to May 2026

Research Grants and Contracts (RGC) within the Division of Research and Enterprise contributes to UNSW’s research performance and profile via the effective management of the University’s research income. RGC is the key link between UNSW researchers, executive and funding agencies including NHMRC, ARC, other government and non-government research funders, philanthropic competitive grant funders and industry partners.

The Project Officer reports to and supports the Senior Manager, Operations and Innovation, in implementing and maintaining the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) workflow and ticketing system. This role ensures the delivery of customer-focused research grant management services by accurately and promptly triaging and allocating incoming work to relevant RGC staff through SPOC. Additionally, the Project Officer manages the RGC weekly training process and supports the onboarding of casual staff during major rounds.

About the successful applicant

You have a relevant qualification and or work experience, including recent experience overseeing workflows within a high-volume ticketing system.

Key skills include the ability to collate, summarise and present complex material effectively to various stakeholder groups, attention to detail, excellent time management skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate your experience documenting processes, developing recommendations, and managing projects.

Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, values, policies and guidelines, as well as knowledge of health and safety responsibilities, are also essential.
