Position Summary

The Casual Facilitator is responsible for contributing and facilitating the learning and development experience for students undertaking a range of co-curricular programs including Leadership Foundations, Innovator Pro and Professional Development Programs.

The Casual Facilitator reports to the Manager, Student Development and has no direct reports. 

This opportunity is based on UNSW's term schedule and will have irregular patterns.

 

This role will: 

  • Facilitate pre-designed interactive student career and professional development programs.
  • Contribute to the creation of programs, activities and resources that support students in in developing employability and professional skills (I.e. communication, leadership, networking, critical and creative thinking skills)
  • Review students’ development tasks and provide constructive feedback.
  • Moderate and manage in-person and online learning spaces (e.g. Moodle Blogs, MS Teams, breakout conversations).
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of student development workshops and programs.
  • Mentor students as they progress through the student development programs.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

 

Skills and Experience required 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience, ideally in a learning and development context.
  • Proven experience designing, developing and delivering high quality and interactive workshops online and in person.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • A strong working knowledge of employability market for students and associated skills development.
  • Advanced level of using online tools for facilitation and learning purposes.
