Why Your Role Matters:
Shape the identity and vibrancy of the UNSW Canberra City Precinct by providing strategic leadership for the City Central service point and coordinating with diverse teams including Launch, Schools and Lifelong Learning, to create an engaging environment for students, staff, industry partners, and the community. The role involves strategic development and operational management of City Central, ensuring exceptional concierge and front-line support services. The Manager will drive engagement programs to enhance the experience of all precinct users and supervise a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Accountabilities:
• Lead the delivery of the strategic direction of the precinct activation in close collaboration with the General Manager and Head of Student Life and Experience.
• Lead the design and delivery of an annual engagement plan.
• Measure and evaluate the impact of activation and engagement initiatives for stakeholders, industry engagement, and community relations.
• Overseeing the delivery of student and education support services on campus.
• Support student and precinct communications, ensuring brand compliance, relevance, and tailoring messages to local audiences.
• Cultivating and managing key partnerships with high-level stakeholders, including senior University officials, industry executives, and community leaders, to secure resources and support for precinct activation initiatives.
• Supervise the Administration support team.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
• A relevant tertiary degree with extensive management expertise and relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in managing programs, or developing, reviewing, or evaluating significant policies, programs, or initiatives related to stakeholder engagement, student services and/or site activation.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence, and guide staff, and foster collaboration across teams and programs.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level stakeholders, including senior management, industry leaders, and community representatives, to foster collaboration and support precinct activation and engagement goals.
• Ability to apply a thorough knowledge of University-wide policies, or the external environment (e.g., government legislation, guidelines and requirements), or diverse research and teaching activities, particularly as they relate to stakeholder engagement and community relations.
