The Opportunity

Join the Engagement Team as an Engagement and Communications Officer, covering a team member undertaking an Internal Temporary Transfer (ITT). Based within the Faculty of Engineering, you will provide proactive, practical, and efficient project support to the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (MECH), the School of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering (MERE), and the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), as well as contribute to key projects within the Faculty Head Office. This multifaceted role involves advising school staff on events and digital media processes, overseeing the school(s) LinkedIn group accounts to foster engagement, creating high-quality content for internal and external platforms, ensuring alignment with UNSW branding, coordinating events, cultivating strong working relationships and more.

  • Salary, Level 5: $88,717 to $100,386 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed term – 11 months to cover an ITT/secondment
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing copy and content creation for online platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Yammer as well as website copy in a professional setting.
  • Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success in event coordination.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide effective customer service and support to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team, preferably within a stakeholder-driven environment.
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
