Why this role matters:
The Administrator plays a key role within the Specialist Administrative Support (SAS) team at the UNSW Business School, providing high-level administrative coordination to ensure the smooth delivery of critical operations across the Faculty.
Reporting to the SAS Manager, the role supports compliance with university policies, coordinates key academic processes such as timetabling and sessional staff administration, and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
The Administrator works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate administrative support, with a focus on consistency, efficiency, and effective communication. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of administrative systems and delivering quality service across the Business School.
Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to apply, interpret and advise on policies, procedures or systems, across varying tasks with high levels of compliance required.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in an administrative environment, with an ability to investigate operational issues and suggest improvements to procedures for increased efficiency.
- Experience with coordinating and managing administrative and teaching workloads for Academic staff.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to establish effective working relationships with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word processing, Outlook, spreadsheets, and databases.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
