Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy (Clinical Education)

• Remuneration: $127k - $178k base, depending on experience (+17% super and leave loading)

The School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four ground-breaking health professional education programs. These programs have seen the scope of our teaching effort broaden significantly and moving forward, shape the future Health workforce in Australia and beyond.

Why this role matters  

As our pharmacy program expands, this position will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements and simulation) throughout the pharmacy program.

Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

Some key skills required:

Level B

• A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
• General Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of pharmacy and the ability to deliver appropriate care
• Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
• Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., relevant discipline- based curriculum design, especially with respect to clinical education and development at a variety of levels and scales)
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable)

Level C (in addition to the above)

• Advanced clinical knowledge and the ability to deliver appropriate person-centred care
• Advance practice credentialling for medicines review, aged care or other specialty areas (desired)
• Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching
• Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
