The Marketing Automation Platform Lead plays a key role in the Digital Experience team with responsibility for maintenance, integration and ongoing optimisation of UNSW marketing automation systems to maximise lead generation and enrolment conversion for UNSW’s future students’ audiences and achieving enrolment targets across all faculties. This role is critical for the successful delivery and maintenance of marketing automation campaigns and segmentation in CRM and Adobe.  

The Marketing Automation Platform Lead reports to the Digital Experience Manager and has no direct reportsrather acts as a subject matter expert and consultant within the team. 

Main responsibilities summary 

  • Manage marketing automation platforms to ensure efficient campaign execution, audience segmentation, and customer journey orchestration whilst collaborating with IT system owners in maintaining system integrity, data security, and user access controls 

  • Maintain marketing automation workflows for optimal performance and scalability 

  • Establish best practices for campaign creation, testing, and deployment with team alignment 

  • Update marketing automation practices to improve efficiency and manage increased campaign volume and complexity 

  • Implement lead capture strategies to develop highly segmented and personalised audiences for better engagement and conversion 

  • Act as a superuser and champion of CRM, providing training and support to drive adoption 

  • Oversee the implementation and migration of marketing campaigns between systems 

  • Report on campaign performance metrics and identify optimisation opportunities 

Who You Are 

We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, who is client-service focused with demonstrated consulting skills. We also need you to come equipped with: 

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with enterprise marketing automation platforms (preferably Adobe), including campaign management, email marketing, lead scoring, workflow automation, A/B testing, and integration with CRM systems 

  • Deep understanding of marketing operations, customer journey design, and marketing automation best practices 

  • Demonstrated ability to present digital marketing concepts and results in a compelling way whilst effectively liaising with stakeholders 

  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce) for data activation across digital channels 

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from campaign performance data and recommend optimisation strategies 

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and marketing compliance requirements 

Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours.  The role is based in Sydney – Kensington Campus and works in a hybrid way (2 days per week in the office).  

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
