Remuneration: Level 6 $100K- $107K pro rata (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading

Location: Kensington, Sydney, New South Wales

Please note: The Clinic operates on Thursdays and Fridays, requiring mandatory onsite presence on these two days. The remaining half-day is flexible.

Why Your Role Matters:

UNSW Fatigue Clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinical service offering integrated graded exercise therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy for patients with chronic fatigue states, including post-infective fatigue syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome and post cancer fatigue syndrome, incorporating psychology and exercise physiology interventions.

The Clinic operates in an academic framework incorporating research with the clinical service. The Practice Officer supports the management of the UNSW Fatigue Clinic, which is an academic clinical service, conducting research and managing patients with medically unexplained fatigue states. The Clinic utilizes integrated clinical practice management and research software.

The Practice Officer reports to UNSW Fatigue Clinic Director and has no direct reports.

Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or minimum of five years’ experience in clinical practice management.
  • Demonstrated significant experience in the delivery of quality, professional, customer-focused services to internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated significant experience with Medicare and insurer payments.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including an understanding of and experience in using a client/patient management databases.
  • High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to liaise with people from diverse groups and backgrounds at all levels (clinical staff, patients, health professionals, researchers and students).
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with sensitive and confidential matters and to work flexible hours as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and solve administrative problems to provide accurate and appropriate outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and on multiple tasks.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
