Why your role matters
This role is part of the Business Development & Commercialisation (BD&C) team within the Industry & Innovation (I&I) Portfolio. BD&C leads IP management and commercialisation and manages partnerships with industry, government and other external and internal partners.
You will be a key interface between the University (predominately the Schools of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering) and external partners (both domestic and international), driving complex negotiations and closing significant business deals to deliver research partnerships (contract and collaborative) and IP commercialisation deals (licenses, spinouts) for the University to achieve revenue and social impact targets. This will include engagement with researchers and academics to provide strategic support though out the invention and patenting process, and coaching and education to promote and facilitate I&I initiatives. You will also work closely with the New Ventures team to unearth spinout opportunities.

Who you are
You have a track record of achievement in developing and closing technology and R&D related business deals, significant experience and value-add networks in the manufacturing and resources sector and can demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively within a team, deliver training to internal stakeholders, and achieve substantial revenue targets and key performance indicators.
