Why your Role Matters
The Senior External Engagement Manager is a strategic leadership role in The Division of Societal Impact Equity and Engagement based in the Faculty of Law & Justice. The high-performing Faculty-based EE teams work alongside central areas such as events, alumni, news & content, and internal communications, assisting the Faculty to build its reputation and networks of influence. This team is committed to working with colleagues across DSIEE, ensuring a ‘OneUNSW’ approach is taken to developing strategy and implementing the appropriate quality standards. This role is responsible for delivering key external engagement activities locally and in a manner that effectively supports the needs of the Faculty leadership team.
Skills & Experience summary: You will hold a relevant qualification, or equivalent level of knowledge, and experience alongside:
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and execute strategic external engagement plans, to meet the priorities identified by the Faculty and the University.
- Evidence of a successfully improving an organisation’s profile via external engagement activities.
- Ability to work in a highly adaptable a consultative manner, working in a highly collaborative way to deliver the best outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to produce effective briefings and design effective PowerPoint presentations.
- Outstanding experience of managing and allocating resources including staff and operating budget.
- Ability to lead, motivate and train team members, to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines for self and others.
- Proven effective and successful interaction at senior management and executives, and ability to influence and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Proven track record in managing large programs and assessing strategic options and pathways.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of or experience with the Law & Justice Industry is highly desired.
