The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a proactive Teaching Support Administration Officer to support the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating the delivery and evaluation of learning and teaching initiatives across our coursework programs.

This collaborative role involves working alongside Course Convenors, Academic Program Authorities, Team, Leaders and School Manager to ensure the effective coordination and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative and planning support to ensure the smooth and consistent delivery of academic programs, contributing to the school’s commitment to operational excellence.

This role reports to the School Manager and has no direct reports.

  • Salary, Broadbanded Level 5/6:
    • Level 5 - $85,717 to $96,991 per annum + 17% superannuation
    • Level 6 - $100,354 to $107,054 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed term – 12 months
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience

Level 5

  • A relevant degree and relevant administrative or customer service experience in a tertiary organisation, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Highly developed organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, conduct complex tasks and projects and meet competing deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high-level experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office. Experience using a student management system would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Level 6 (in addition to above)

  • Significant relevant experience in a similar role in a tertiary organisation.
  • Experience providing a broad range of teaching administration support and advice to Academic staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply, interpret, advise on and contribute to the development of policies, systems, manuals, rules, procedures and guidelines.
