You'll be at the forefront of strategic development, helping to define business requirements and identify how technology can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the student experience.

As a key member of a small project team, you’ll act as the crucial link between business goals and technical solutions. Your ability to analyse complex processes, communicate progress and risks, and ensure alignment between strategy and implementation will make a lasting impact. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (Strategic Technology & Governance Planning), you’ll work closely with the RaSS team to deliver real value to the university.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Leading process improvements, investigating, analysing, and documenting business processes and the underlying business model for a system or process area
  • Work closely with stakeholders across UNSW to understand business needs and document business requirements. This may involve identifying pain points, and defining the desired outcomes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that digital initiatives align with business goals and objectives, and with the IT team to define digital solutions that are both technically feasible and aligns with business objectives.
  • Have a working knowledge of UNSW’s suite of Student Systems & Technology products, as well as a broad understanding of the Higher Education technology landscape in order to provide guidance on best practices and innovative uses of these products.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, IT or related field, with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a digital business analyst role or similar
  • Strong experience with strategic technology projects within large organisations.
  • Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse range of stakeholders at different levels within an organisation to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrable strong problem solving and analytical skills, and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a matrix organisation, ideally with experience of Agile & Project Management Methodologies
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Working knowledge of the Higher Education industry and related technologies is desirable.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
