About the School of Systems & Computing
The School of Systems & Computing is a vibrant place with key focus areas in computer science, cyber security, systems engineering, and artificial intelligence. The school’s academic staff pride themselves in providing excellent education to undergraduate and postgraduate student cohorts in a variety of delivery modes, while also conducting cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary teams with a focus on societal impact. Why Your Role Matters
UNSW’s Education Focused roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. With your demonstrated background in Systems Engineering, you will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities. The role of Lecturer reports to Head of School and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will inspire student learning, conduct classes, assess and support students in postgraduate and undergraduate courses in line with UNSW policy.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
• A PhD in Systems Engineering or related discipline, or relevant work experience (minimum 5yr)
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering and test and evaluation
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, development of teaching materials, meaningful assessment design, and online delivery methods
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales)
