Why this role matters:
The Academic Coordinator is a key member of the AGSM Academic Team, working closely with the Head of School, Deputy Head of School (Education), and PT MBA Director to support the delivery of world-class, innovative learning and teaching. The role reports to the AGSM School Manager and does not have direct reports.
The Academic Coordinator provides high-level coordination and administrative support across a range of academic and teaching activities. This includes managing the teaching allocation process, coordinating recruitment and onboarding of teaching staff, and maintaining comprehensive sessional staff records. The role also supports the preparation of rankings submissions, development opportunities for teaching staff, and the organisation of academic and alumni events.
In collaboration with academic leaders and professional staff, the Academic Coordinator ensures accurate reporting of course outcomes, timely submission of governance documentation, and effective communication of teaching and learning policies. The role plays a vital part in ensuring operational excellence and a positive academic experience for both staff and students.
Skills Required: 
- Relevant tertiary qualification and minimum of three years’ work experience in a university or other large institutional environment, preferably with faculty and students.
 
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 
- Coordination of a large contingent workforce, preferably faculty.
 
- Stakeholder management of a large number of internal and external stakeholders.
 
- Implementing governance processes and policy, preferably in a university or government setting.
 
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on complex data.
 
- Demonstration of quality improvement initiatives, process improvement and innovative thinking.
 
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
 
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
