Why your role matters
The Senior Research Reporting Officer plays a key role in supporting enterprise systems for managing research outputs, bibliometrics, research assessment activities, monitoring and impact as part of the Library’s Scholarly Communication and Repositories team.
The position will provide technical and research assistance to library staff and researchers in activities associated with managing research outputs and assessment, contribute to workshops, and provide expert guidance as required. The role contributes to capabilities in monitoring open access compliance and open research indicators. UNSW Library is the business owner for the University’s enterprise Research Outputs System and source of truth for research publications.
This a newly created role that reports to the Manager, Research Reporting, supporting the Associate Director, Scholarly Communication and Repositories; it has no direct reports.
About You:
You are a highly skilled and adaptable professional with a strong foundation in data analysis and visualisation, demonstrated through experience with tools such as SQL, Python, or Power BI. Your background includes a university degree in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge gained through education and experience. You bring a deep understanding of scholarly communications, including open access, research impact, and the research publication lifecycle.
Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills enable you to design and deliver training to diverse stakeholders on topics such as bibliometrics and research impact. You thrive in dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities with strong time management and attention to detail. Whether collaborating within a team or working independently, you consistently demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full ongoing rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position. The role is based in Sydney – Kensington campus.
