The Opportunity
The Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW, has an opportunity for a Project Officer to provide practical and efficient project support for project teams and key stakeholders.
Join our team to play a key role in delivering projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals. You will be responsible for project coordination and support, including planning, scheduling, and tracking deliverables to ensure alignment with time, cost, and quality metrics. Additionally, you will provide reporting and analytical support, develop communications, and build strong internal and external relationships. Your role will also involve managing project administration, such as coordinating workshops and meetings, minute-taking, action tracking, and status reporting. By offering proactive support to project teams and stakeholders, you will contribute to the successful execution of key programs and projects.
This role reports to Prof Lynne Bilston, supporting the Paul H Trainor Chair, with a dotted reporting line to the
Deputy Head (Academic) of the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering.
- Salary, Level 6 - $100,354 to $107,054 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-term contract – 24 months

Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft suite, ethics systems (e.g. iRECS, REGIS) and data analysis software. Experience with university and/or clinical systems is desirable.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
