  • Engage and facilitate consultation workshops with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify synergies within current policies and develop evidence-based policy solutions that are able to be implemented University-wide.
  • Undertake benchmarking and analysis to improve the new policies and the underlying processes.
  • Lead the consultation process for each new policy, reviewing all feedback received across the University and make final recommendations to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience.
  • Apply excellent writing skills to produce easy-to-read policies and documents
  • Evaluate current policies to remove duplication and monitor the policy database to ensure the validity of policy and identify the impact of new or amended legislation.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience within a policy role.
  • Superior analytical and written communication skills; including confidently interpreting legislation, policies and procedures and write in plain English.
  • Experience in successful project and resources management and the development and communication of policies, practices and strategies, particularly in the context of change.
  • Proven experience in policy analysis and review through high level research, analytical and engagement skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with University staff and external stakeholders and the ability to act with tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • High quality research and report writing with the ability to write for a variety of audiences and an ability to analyse complex information and produce easy-to-read policies and documents.
  • Ability to function effectively and independently with the capacity to take responsibility, exercise independent judgement and proactively address and resolve complex problems as they arise, including at senior levels to negotiate and agree on outcomes.
