Why your role matters  

The Team Member, Electronic Resources ensures effective discovery and access to electronic resources through the description and configuration of online resources and the activation of access to those resources. This is an area of significant growth and complexity. The Electronic Resources Unit is responsible for the acquisition of library resources and loading of bibliographic data into the Library Management system to facilitate effective discovery and retrieval, and for course support which is increasingly delivered online via Leganto. The role works across the Library matrix including opportunities for collaboration with other Library units.

This opportunity is available due to an interanion promotion. The role reports to either Manager, Electronic Resources and Data Quality or the Team Leader, Electronic Resources and has no direct reports.

Skills and experience required

To be successful you must have:

• A tertiary qualification and/or subsequent relevant experience or knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience

• Demonstrated understanding of electronic information delivery in an academic library or equivalent environment

• Proven accuracy and attention to detail. Sound understanding of data quality principles and the need adhere to standards

• Ability to work and make decisions in a multi-tasking role with overlapping priorities and deadlines within a team environment

• Demonstrated ability to analyse and solve complex problems

• Demonstrated ability to consistently apply complex procedures to a range of online tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven customer focus

• Strong client focus and commitment to deliver quality service in an information environment

• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action

• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
