The Opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering has a continuing (permanent) opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager. This strategic and operational role is central to planning, allocating, and managing space and facilities across the Faculty. You'll lead space-related projects, shape the Faculty’s accommodation strategy, and provide expert advice to senior Faculty stakeholders - including the Faculty Executive Director, Deputy Faculty Executive Director, Senior Management Team, Heads of School, and School Managers - to support the Faculty’s growth and operational efficiency.
This highly collaborative position involves working closely with Schools and Estate Management to support building planning proposals and developing space strategies that optimise utilisation, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.
This role reports to Deputy Faculty Executive Director and has no direct reports. The role will work closely with the Heads of School, School Managers, Building Managers, Precinct Managers and the Asset Planning Manager.

Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven advanced project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft 365 suite, oracle databases and online collaborative applications.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
