The Opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering has a key role for an Events and Engagement Coordinator to lead and deliver a range of high-impact initiatives and activities, including events, faculty projects, graduations, content creation, and alumni engagement. In this highly collaborative role, you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice to ensure these initiatives align with university-wide goals. You will oversee the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of complex projects and events, engaging diverse internal and external audiences. Working closely with stakeholders across the university, you’ll promote best practices, maintain branding and communications standards, and deliver targeted stakeholder messaging.
This role reports to the External Engagement Manager (Engineering) and has no direct reports.
- Salary, Level 7: $113,926 to $123,301 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training, and experience in strategic engagement, project leadership, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional expertise.
- Proven track record in leading the design and delivery of complex, high-impact events and initiatives with demonstrated experience delivering a variety of events and sound understanding of the steps involved in working with event owners, presenters, stakeholders, and audiences.
- High level of attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to excellence in program and project delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into simple messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with colleagues across a range of teams whilst coordinating multiple priorities.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to navigate through
- competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience working with varied alumni activities and ability to proactively engage with individuals.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
