Why your Role Matters:
The People Insights Analyst – Quality & Compliance (QAC) is responsible for leveraging people data to facilitate compliance with and monitoring of legislative requirements and internal policies. This role focuses on providing data-driven insights to support the identification, analysis, and response to People & Culture (P&C) compliance issues. It involves generating meaningful reports, dashboards, and analytics to inform decision-making and supports compliance objectives being met.
This role reports to the Head of People Data & Insights, with a dotted line to the Head of People Quality and Compliance. Whilst the Head of People Quality and Compliance will direct the role’s workload and priorities, the role is supported by the People Data & Insights (PDI) team, which includes leveraging data-driven tools and systems to drive economies of scale and consistency, as well as facilitating knowledge transfer, guiding technical troubleshooting, and supporting quality assurance activities.
This role has no direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Extract and analyse people data from P&C systems (including PeopleSoft HCM and PageUp) using tools such as SQL and PeopleSoft Query to extract data and deliver compliance focussed reports, dashboards, and insights.
- Develop and maintain people compliance dashboards and reports that monitor adherence to statutory, legislative and enterprise agreement requirements as well as internal policies to support the University in meeting its required obligations.
- Establish and embed a structured reporting schedule to deliver timely and consistent insights for compliance, monitoring, and decision-making. Work with large data sets and collate multiple data sets to draw insights and compare benchmarks.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements for reporting purposes and explore data sources, as well as undertaking data analysis, to deliver insights, analytics, dashboards and relevant reporting.
- Support P&C compliance initiatives and projects by analysing pay and non-pay-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns. Provide insights, analytics, and reporting that inform decision-making, ensuring solutions are scalable, sustainable, and drive behavioural, operational, and organisational change
- Ensure all reports and insights adhere to privacy regulations, legislative requirements, and internal data governance frameworks.
- Investigate data discrepancies, identifying possible areas for improvement.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in a relevant discipline and subsequent experience in data capture, manipulation and analysis, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.
- Advanced skills in tools such as SQL, PeopleSoft Query, and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).
- Proven ability to develop and apply appropriate business intelligence and analytics software.
- Demonstrated experience in independently managing data research, collation and analysis in order to present accurate, appropriate and meaningful information to selected audience.
- High level interpersonal, numeracy, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to provide effective service to colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Strong ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent planning, project co-ordination and organisation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
