Why your Role Matters:
The Payroll Compliance Officer plays a key role in quantifying and rectifying employee pay claims, maintaining payroll data integrity, and supporting general compliance activities. Reporting to the Payroll Compliance Team Lead, the role involves establishing and maintaining a robust internal process for pay claims management while working closely with key stakeholders, including the finance, claims, and salaries teams.
A critical aspect of this role is ensuring data integrity through rigorous checking, updating, and maintenance, with a strong focus on claims, data interpretation, and preserving accuracy.
This position has no direct reports.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant experience or a degree, with a subsequent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Experience in payroll processes including interpreting industrial instruments (including enterprise agreements and relevant employment legislation) as well as legislation relating to PAYG, superannuation and other payroll regulations.
- High degree of competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience working with PeopleSoft desirable.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
