Why You are:
Join UNSW's Digital Experience team as the Web and UX Manager, responsible for leading the optimisation of web experiences for key audiences, including Societal Impact and Future Students. This role focuses on delivering data-driven, customer-centric web engagement initiatives in collaboration with content, data, and technology teams. You’ll oversee the development of intuitive and engaging user experiences, ensuring alignment with leading industry practices.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Experience, you will lead a team of 3 direct reports and play a crucial role in shaping UNSW’s web presence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Web & UX Team: Oversee team to create personalised, streamlined web experiences for key audiences.
- Implement Web & UX Strategy: Drive delivery roadmap for UNSW's web strategy, focusing on Adobe tech and data integration for a connected customer journey.
- Manage Web Presence: Oversee UNSW’s web properties (home page, newsroom, study/faculty sites) ensuring a customer-focused, data-driven approach.
- Drive Digital Enhancements: Manage end-to-end digital improvements using agile workflows, partnering with audience owners, vendors, and reporting on web performance.
- Lead Web Design & UX Optimisation: Manage UX audits, design processes, and address customer pain points through iterative testing and improvements.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with IT, Future Students, Equity & Engagement teams, and external agencies to deliver accessible, on-brand web experiences.
- Analyse Web Performance: Oversee reporting on website performance and audience behaviour, using data and user feedback to refine design and prioritize improvements.
- Lead Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO): Develop and manage a CRO program supporting both organic and paid marketing strategies.
- Support Team Development: Guide team’s UX capabilities, support digital adoption, and promote learning and implementation of new technologies.
- Build a High-Performing Team: Ensure the growth of a diverse, inclusive, and skilled web and UX team, fostering upskilling and ongoing team transformation.
Skills and Experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training, and student recruitment experience.
- Experience working with website development platforms, with Adobe Marketing Cloud, specifically Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Analytics experience required.
- Understanding and experience with the application of UX design best practices.
- Commercial acumen and knowledge of digital marketing / ecommerce, with an understanding of sales funnels and activation. Experience in student recruitment will be highly regarded.
- People management skills with substantial experience in managing multiple direct reports and wider team, managing workloads and mentoring team members.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to engage people of all ages, including those from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of students, staff and external stakeholders. High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
