The Opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering is looking for a 3D Technology Integration Specialist. This role includes working with various Engineering Schools and the Makerspace Network to provide 3D services such as printing, scanning, and modelling. Additionally, you will explore new additive manufacturing technologies for both UNSW students and academics.
This position also requires reviewing and providing expert advice to UNSW students and academics on the most suitable 3D technologies for comprehensive learning and research outcomes. Furthermore, it involves guiding the design and creation of physical prototypes from virtual designs. The role also includes consulting with stakeholders across UNSW to develop a campus-wide strategy for the future of 3D printing services.
This role reports to the Makerspace Manager.
- Salary, Level 7: $110,073 to $119,132 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Continuous (Permanent)
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
- On-site role 5 days per week

Skills and Experience
- A degree in engineering or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience, or similar relevant skills and work experience.
- Sound knowledge, skills and expertise in CAD, 3D printer operation, reverse engineering using 3D scanners and typical Makerspace equipment.
- Demonstrated time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
