Why your role matters

The Recombinant Products Facility (RPF) provides services and research support within the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre (MWAC) at UNSW Sydney. The facility manages and operates state-of-the-art equipment to support the production, purification, and characterisation of proteins and other biologics. The facility operates under an ISO 9001-accredited Quality Management System (QMS).

You will provide technical and administrative support for the effective operation of multi-user PC2 wet lab facilities where the Recombinant Products Facility and other MWAC facilities operate. This position will primarily focus on Health & Safety compliance across these labs. Further, the position will contribute to the overall operations of the laboratories, including general laboratory housekeeping, user inductions and training, and stakeholder engagement. The role of reports to the Head of the Recombinant Products Facility and has no direct reports.

Who you are

You have a degree in biological or biomedical sciences (or equivalent experience), knowledge of lab operations (e.g. AS 2243.1, OGTR certification) and experience with lab information management and safety systems.

You also be able to demonstrate your excellent communication skills, proven ability to train others, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and in a team.
