Why your role matters
We are seeking a Project and Change Manager to play a key leadership role in the planning, development, stakeholder management, and execution of initiatives within the Assessment and Feedback Workstream, which is a vital and transformative part of the Student Experience Program. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed implementation plans and project schedules, ensuring effective management of workstream financials, and overseeing risk and issue management. You will also provide expert advice and coaching to team members, guiding them on how to effectively manage business impacts and support the embedding of transformational change across UNSW.
As a Project and Change Manager, you will report directly to the Student Experience Program Manager and oversee a team of up to 6 direct reports, including Business Analysts, Change Managers, Learning Specialists, and a Project Officer.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Manage the planning and implementation of initiatives and the definition of the Assessment and Feedback Workstream objectives, and deliverables.
- Oversee and manage the delivery of Assessment and Feedback initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Proactive collaboration and support of the Academic and Education community to help them deliver and embed the change.
- Ensure the strategic direction and deliverables of the workstream is developed through strong collaboration with the Assessment and Feedback Academic Leads
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of experience and training.
- Experience with teaching and assessment in higher education context desirable but not required.
- Proven advanced project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Vendor management/procurement experience desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale transformation change impacting culture, policy, process, technology and people.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and resource allocation procedures.
- High level of experience working with a range of relevant computer systems and applications.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
