Why your role matters

We are seeking a dedicated Future Student Advisor to join our Future Student Recruitment team at UNSW. This role plays a vital part in strengthening our marketing and recruitment efforts, ensuring UNSW remains the top choice for local students in the state and a premier destination for international students across the country.

As a Future Student Advisor, you will provide accurate, comprehensive, and timely advice to prospective students through various inbound contact channels and events. You will interpret complex scenarios and apply detailed degree and admissions policies to guide students effectively. Whether engaging via phone, email, web forms, or web chat, you will utilise systems like CRM to capture and record interactions while delivering exceptional customer service.

Success in this role requires meeting key performance indicators and ensuring that team service level agreements are achieved. Reporting to the Future Student Recruitment Enquiry Team Lead, this position does not have direct reports but offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in helping students navigate their academic future at UNSW.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Participate fully within the Future Student Enquiry Centre contributing to creating a respected and customer-focused service environment.
  • Provide pre and post application support to prospective students to progress them through the UNSW student recruitment cycle.
  • Understand the University’s business, drivers, and processes, as well as culture, and how each Department/Faculty interacts effectively on an organisational level.
  • Provide accurate, timely and comprehensive information to prospective students and stakeholders via all inbound channels and events.

About You:     

  • A relevant degree with extensive experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven ability to work in a high volume, process driven environment with variable workflow patterns and to fixed deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience in the tertiary education sector with experience in key source markets is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and productively as an effective team member to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases (e.g. CRM).
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.

This role requires on-site work during December and January, including availability over the Christmas and New Year period.
