Why Your Role Matters:

The Library Learning Services Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality services to students, staff, and stakeholders through both face-to-face and digital channels. Working as part of a team of Library Learning Specialists and collaborating with staff from other Library and University units, this role is integral to providing a high level of service to all clients.

Reporting to the Library Learning Services Team Coordinator, the Library Learning Services Specialist does not have any direct reports but plays a key role in guiding and supporting other staff. Key responsibilities include offering consistent and reliable information about Library and University services, providing accurate and timely referrals to other units within the Library or University in response to client inquiries, and delivering training and guidance to staff, which includes offering basic supervision on routine tasks or specific projects.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience as follows:

  • TAFE qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of high quality, consistent and effective client services.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise and communicate with clients.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and professional skills, including the ability to engage positively and maturely with clients.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training

Special Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays and to work at different campuses as required.
