Remuneration: $82K- $93K per annum + 17% super + annual leave loading

Location: Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney NSW

Why this role matters:

The Research Assistant will be the primary point of contact for several national projects to recruit participants, primarily the National Endometriosis Clinical and Scientific Trials (NECST) Registry and Biorepository and including the LongSTEPPP study (a collaboration between UNSW and Murdoch Children's Research Institute; MCRI).

The Research Assistant will report directly to the Professor and has no direct reports.

The Research Assistant will be part of the Gynaecological Research and Clinical Evaluation (GRACE) Unit research team and the research team based outside of Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).

Skills Required:

  • A degree in Science, Medicine, Health Science, Nursing or a related discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection (or relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated understanding of research methodology with previous experience in a research related role, in either a clinical research setting or with patient groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, and an aptitude to show understanding of the issues faced by patients and families.
  • Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience with word processing, data management and statistical software would be beneficial (but not essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
