Why your role matters:

 

The role of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Asset and Facilities Management will lead the design, delivery and review of Property and Facilities Management courses at UNSW Built Environment.

This is a great opportunity for a practitioner within industry who has experience in teaching to teach 2 days a week into world class construction and property programs.

UNSW’s Education Focussed roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

 

This position reports to the Director of Construction Management and Property and has no direct reports.

This position is based in Sydney Australia.

 

Skills and Experience

Level B:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant professional experience in asset, facilities, and property management
  • A record of actively staying up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments in asset, property, and facilities management
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with professional bodies, and the broader industry, in relation to asset, property, and facilities management
  • Experience in course design and delivery using a range of pedagogical approaches, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods (desired)
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

 

Level C (in addition to the above):

  • A record of innovation in education / disciplinary strategic initiatives and delivering exceptional student outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience as a regional leader in asset and facilities management in NSW (evidenced by e.g. presentations, membership in respected professional organisations, professional advocacy etc)
  • Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning
  • Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching
  • Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
