The Indigenous Tuition Program (ITP) is co-ordinated by Nura Gili Centre for Indigenous Programs at UNSW. The ITP is a government funded program aimed at improving educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students. Tutors are typically senior (3rd year or above) or postgraduate students or recent graduates who achieved strong academic results in the relevant discipline. Tutoring is mostly one-on-one and can be done in person or online.

Tutors must first register their interest to be a tutor on the ITP website www.nuragili.com.au where they need to upload their CV, Academic Statement and Photo ID. Tutors should also Add Units (course codes) for any courses they wish to be considered for tutoring. Students request a tutor for a given course and are then matched with the most suitable tutor who has achieved a credit or above in that course.   Tutors are paid on a casual basis at the Casual Academic / Demonstrator rate https://unsw.sharepoint.com/sites/Salaries-Super-Benefits/SitePages/Salary-Rates-Academic-Casual.aspx

Tutoring hours can vary depending on the student’s needs.
