Why Your Role Matters:

The HR Consultant (Recruitment) will deliver customer focused and collaborative HR and recruitment services and advice to UNSW Canberra. Joining a close-knit and supportive team, this role involves managing end to end internal recruitment in addition to providing a range of generalist HR functions.

The role reports to the HR Business Partner with a dotted reporting line to the Head, Talent and Recruitment and Deputy HR Business Partner. In addition, in the position you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with UNSW Sydney’s Talent Acquisition Team and HR Business Partnering Teams.


  • Deliver advanced operational HR services to UNSW Canberra
  • Deliver end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a positive and seamless recruitment experience
  • Provide expert HR advice and assistance on a broad range of complex HR matters
  • Attraction and advertising strategies, candidate management, behavioural interviewing, reference checking, psychological assessment and pre-employment check
  • Assist with the delivery of HR and Talent projects and initiatives
  • Provide recruitment and selection training with talent market insights to Hiring Managers

Who You Are:

  • Tertiary qualifications with significant HR and Recruitment experience
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Proven ability to complete work in tight timeframes and the flexibility to handle changing priorities
  • Previous experience within higher education or government sector highly regarded
  • Experience using HR and Recruitment platforms (eg PageUp & Peoplesoft)
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and candidate engagement capability
