The Opportunity

As the industry Engagement Manager, you will manage relationships with industry partners for the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) to oversee existing and new industry projects. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with internal stakeholders such as CSE researchers as well external industry organisations both government and non-government funding bodies at the state, national and international level.

We are seeking someone who values building long term relationships and not just transactional thinking. If you are a detailed oriented person who enjoys working with industry partners to help CSE academics and students to make the world better with our research and teaching, then this is the role for you.

  • Salary, Level 8: $111,044 to $125,115 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed-Term role – 2 years
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience (Selection Criteria)

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven experience in working and relationship-building with people from diverse cultures, industries, job functions and backgrounds at all levels and career stages.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
