Maridulu Budyari Gumal – the Sydney Partnership for Health Education, Research and Enterprise( SPHERE) is one of Australia’s Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres, bringing together the research, innovation and education ‘engine rooms’ in leading universities, health services and medical research institutes with the ‘front-line’ of healthcare delivery in our local health districts and health networks in Eastern, South Eastern and South Western Sydney.
The position is an exceptional opportunity for a high calibre leader to continue to transform the health environment in New South Wales and Australia more broadly by linking outstanding research with top quality education across all organisations involved in the SPHERE partnership. The aim is to deliver better healthcare and to generate economic benefits for the Sydney sector.
The Executive Director will be central in driving the shape, development and success of SPHERE into the future. An outstanding, internationally renowned clinical academic and first-class advocate, the Executive Director will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships and effective collaborations across the Partnership, and more widely, to ensure high levels of engagement and commitment from partner organisations.
The Executive Director, who will be appointed for a five year, fixed term with flexible work location arrangements, will lead a highly professional team to develop, manage, and promote the vision and strategy for SPHERE through its next 5 years.
Key focus areas include:
- Working with the SPHERE Council to achieve the strategic objectives for SPHERE
- Establishing the next 5-year plan that incorporates a diligent accreditation process, as well as meeting several outcome measures and targets to maintain the performance of the SPHERE both nationally and internationally.
- Clinical Academic Groups
- Strategic Programs and Research-enabling Platforms
- National Systems Level Initiatives
