Why this role matters:

The Engagement Manager will lead the Business School’s industry and community engagement strategy for Career Accelerator and Student Engagement, enhancing visibility, awareness, and participation among students, employers, and alumni. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong domestic and international partnerships to expand Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Career Development Learning (CDL) opportunities, equipping students with the skills and experiences needed for workforce readiness.

 

Reporting to the Director, Career Accelerator and Student Engagement, the Engagement Manager will oversee a team of seven, and offshore contractors, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. This role requires exceptional stakeholder and industry relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse internal and external partners to drive student outcomes and strategic initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute engagement strategies aligned with Business School priorities.
  • Strengthen employer partnerships to increase WIL and CDL opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance student employability through experiential learning.
  • Manage team performance, workloads, and priorities to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in engagement and employability programs.

 

About you:

  • Relevant Postgraduate qualifications with extensive experience or equivalent knowledge gained through education and experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and influencing outcomes in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing strategy with strong project management skills.
  • Deep understanding of emerging trends in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and  best practices for domestic and international offerings.
  • Ability to independently exercise judgement and problem solving to resolve and address issues as they arise.
  • Strong research and analytical skills including experience preparing high quality reports, proposals, proposals, and business cases.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex policies and influence effective implementation.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles

To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
