Why your role matters
The Learning Abroad Project Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of outbound and inbound mobility programs, managing international agreements, coordinating data and reporting, and providing assistance during peak study abroad periods.
This position plays a key role in enhancing the UNSW student experience by ensuring effective project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and high-quality administrative support. Working collaboratively across the Exchange, Study Abroad, and Short Programs portfolios, the Learning Abroad Project Officer contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the Learning Abroad team.
The role reports to the Lead, Learning Abroad Short Programs and Study Abroad, and the Lead, Learning Abroad Exchange, and does not have any direct reports.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Support the delivery of Learning Abroad projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Oversee the administration of Learning Abroad agreements, to monitor, track and report whilst ensuring overall compliance.
- Provide accurate and timely analysis and reporting of learning abroad data and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support inbound Study Abroad programs including events, administration and student support during peak periods.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through another combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Highly proficient and experience in data capturing, analysis and reporting, with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to all levels of customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Project management experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
