Education Support Officer (3 positions) - UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture

  • Full Time (35-hour week)


Why The Role Matters:

The Education Support Officer will support and provide expert advice across Faculty academic quality activities, including, academic governance and proposals (ECLIPS), data and reporting, Academic Program Reviews (APRs), and other projects supporting the Associate Dean (Academic Quality), Deputy Dean (Education), Education Excellence Manger, and schools to implement the Faculty’s educational strategy. The position requires strong stakeholder engagement, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex change environment.

We are looking to fill three Education Support Officer positions part of UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture.  


Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate the approval and governance processes for ECLIPS proposals by advising on timelines, supporting academic rule development, prerequisites, and alignment with institutional standards.
  • Compile, analyse, and report on student, program, specialisation, and course data to support decision-making and planning.
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality of academic records and related systems to ensure reliable information for students and staff.
  • Work with the Academic Quality Manager and Associate Dean (Academic Quality) to complete Academic Program Reviews, Annual Program Monitoring reports, and other review and monitoring activities.
  • Support academic quality assurance activities, including program reviews, annual monitoring, and other faculty- and university-level review processes.
  • Provide governance and administrative support for Faculty education committees, results governance, and university committee preparation.
  • Interpret and advise on policies, procedures, and systems relating to academic quality, contributing to effective Faculty operations.
  • Manage Academic Quality projects, contribute to Faculty initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve processes and streamline operations.
  • Build collaborative relationships with faculty leadership, schools, and portfolio units to support communication, change management, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with UNSW policies and systems, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.

Skills and Experience: 

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in tertiary education sector preferably with experience in academic quality, student services, student systems, or teaching support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify gaps, understand problems, and develop solutions and suggest improvements.
  • Experience in a range of computing skills including Power BI, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases and a willingness to learn new systems.
