The Manager, Educational Engagement plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education (PVCE) portfolio. The position supports the design and delivery of programs and initiatives that advance UNSW’s Progress for All strategy, and its priorities around Educational Excellence and an outstanding Student Experience. 
 
Working closely with the Lead, Educational Engagement, the role contributes to the University’s community outreach strategy and oversees a team that delivers impactful engagement programs and initiatives for UNSW staff. The position reports to the Lead, Educational Engagement and manages three direct reports. 
 
This is a parental leave cover until October 2026, with a start date asap.
 
Main Responsibilities Summary 
 
- 
Plan and manage Educational Engagement projects and initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to scope  
 
- 
Oversee communication and outreach processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with UNSW Branding Guidelines  
 
- 
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculties, staff, students, and suppliers  
 
- 
Support portfolio-wide planning, promotion, and communication strategies in collaboration with the Lead, Educational Engagement  
 
- 
Contribute to operational management including team leadership, budgeting, internal reporting, and continuous process improvement  
 
 
We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values and comes with:

Demonstrated experience in effective project and resource management within a complex environment, with a solid understanding of the educational project and program life cycle, documentation, budgeting, resource allocation, and evaluation  
 
- 
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with staff at all levels, including senior stakeholders, to achieve successful outcomes  
 
- 
Proven ability to lead and support a team through complex programs, projects, and initiatives, effectively managing challenges and resolving conflict when required  
 
- 
Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting education and student experience strategies, programs, and initiatives  
 
- 
Advanced digital literacy, with proficiency across a range of systems, platforms, and applications, including Drupal, SharePoint and MailChimp. Strong UX and web design knowledge and experience highly desirable.   
 
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours. Flexible work arrangements are available. Location flexibility includes 2 days per week of work from home and 3 days from Kensington campus. We have an annual shutdown from the 22nd of December until the 5th of January, during which the successful person will be required to take leave; one of the benefits of working at UNSW is that all full time and part time employees get 3 extra days of leave paid over that end of the year break.
