The Opportunity
The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW is seeking an Educational Project Officer. In this key role, you will support the delivery of large-scale courses (e.g., DESN, Thesis) by assisting the Thesis Coordinator and Course Convenors with various administrative tasks, including communication, responding to student enquiries, coordinating thesis conferences, and managing course materials. You will also support Design courses through scheduling, communication, and materials coordination, while assisting academics with teaching-related administrative tasks and contributing to educational initiatives.
This role reports to the Deputy Head of School (Education) and has no direct reports.
- Salary, Level 5: $88,717 to $100,386 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent administrative experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside a customer-focused attitude.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in using Power Automate preferred.
- Experience providing administrative support in an educational setting (desirable).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- High level organisation skills with a demonstrated ability to deal with multiple tasks and projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant training.
- Knowledge of equal opportunity principles.
