  • Available to students who will be enrolled for the duration of their employment as a Student Reference Group Member.
  • Employment Type: Casual, attend two meetings per term.

  • Contribute to gendered violence prevention projects at UNSW.

 

Why the Role Matters:

The Safer Communities team aims to create a safe and respectful UNSW community, and it is essential for students to have their say. The UNSW Gendered Violence Student Reference Group consists of undergraduate and postgraduate university students who represent their communities to ensure the student voice is captured in university projects and initiatives related to gendered violence prevention.

Member Roles: 

We are looking for current UNSW students, who are committed to providing insight to University projects, initiatives and campaigns. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and specifically encourage applications from people of diverse gender, sexual orientation, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, people with disability, mature aged and those with caring and family responsibilities, students with or without leadership roles, and those interested in gendered violence prevention.

 
As a member you will:  
  • Represent student voices on gendered violence prevention at UNSW.
  • Attend meetings, contribute insights, and share student experiences.
  • Communicate with other members and the Safer Communities staff.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks in student-led meetings.
  • Participate in evaluation activities to develop and improve the effectiveness of prevention initiatives.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
  • Access training, support and leadership development aligned to UNSW Graduate Attributes
