Why Your Role Matters:

The Associate Director of Academic Engagement is a key member of UNSW’s Library’s senior management team, leading the delivery of high-quality teaching and outreach services to support the University’s educational and research goals. This role oversees staff who collaborate with Faculties and Schools to connect academics with Library resources, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic priorities.

Focused on enhancing digital literacy and study skills, the Associate Director develops and implements teaching services based on the Library’s Digital Information Skills Framework. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, and building stakeholder networks to deliver innovative Library services.

This position manages two of the four Academic Engagement teams, reports to the Director of Information Services, and supervises two direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience at a management level within an academic library.
  • Substantial experience in planning, delivering and evaluating high quality library services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and positively manage and lead people and teams in a changing environment.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders and capacity to engage effectively across UNSW.
  • Sound understanding of relevant pedagogies and educational technologies and their application in the higher education sector. 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high-level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
