The Opportunity

The School of Computer Science and Engineering has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Generative Agents and LLMs. In this role you will carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to the field of deep learning and Large Language Models (LLMs). The research and development will be focused towards developing a multi-agent simulation with generative AI and LLMs, in the new ADM+S signature project ‘Generative AI Simulation’, funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society (ADM+S). This project will investigate a hybrid decision-making system, leveraging cooperative knowledge from multiple stakeholders through socio-technical observations, and knowledge priors in LLMs and open datasets. It will develop a novel suite of generative and data-driven simulations, useful for depicting current and future urban scenarios, including in mobility, urban policymaking, and health domains.

Your contributions will include publishing scientific papers and reports in international journals, actively participating in conferences and workshops, collaborating closely with industry partners, and taking on roles as a co-investigator or chief investigator in competitive grant applications. Additionally, you’ll play a mentoring role, guiding students and colleagues while contributing to the development of the next generation of academics.

This role reports to Professor Flora Salim and has no direct reports.
