The Capability Systems Centre (CSC) aspires to be a world-leading research institute and trusted ‘go-to place’ for Government and industry in the critical area of capability management, including all aspects related to capability lifecycle (design, acquisition, sustainment). To achieve these aims, CSC undertakes high quality research in key areas, which are recognised internationally as being innovative and interdisciplinary, including complex systems science, computational modelling and informatics, decision science, and actionable science. Through collaborative research projects, a diverse portfolio of industry-focused education, and global engagement activities, CSC provides specialized knowledge and expertise targeted to build the capacity of individuals and organizations to design sustainable and resilient capability systems.
The Director, UNSW Capability Systems Centre reports to the Rector UNSW Canberra. The Director provides strategic leadership to the Centre and is responsible for building the Centre into a world-leading research Centre connecting researchers, research students, government and industry partners, and stakeholders. The Director is responsible for leading development of research, education, innovation, and commercialisation that has ‘real world impact’ and delivers long-term benefits.

Salary: Level D: $160,506 – $176,305 plus 17% Superannuation
Term: Full Time, Fixed Term, 5 years
