The School of Public Health and Community Medicine (SPHCM) is internationally recognised as a leader in Public Health and Health Services Research. Our School research focuses on Emerging Threats, Health Systems, and Social and Commercial Determinants of Health, prioritising both translation and impact. The School also has strong associations with research centres and institutes throughout UNSW Medicine.  

About the role

  • Full-time, Fixed-Term 2 Year position
  • Academic Level A: $75,069 - $100, 090 (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

The Bachelor of International Public Health (BIPH) is a fully online undergraduate degree delivered under the PluS Alliance. The Associate Lecturer will contribute to curriculum development and teaching in the BIPH, as well as other areas of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching. The Associate Lecturer will be an early-career researcher and will be expected to actively advance their research profile through publications in peer reviewed journals, applications for competitive funding, higher degree student supervision and contributions to academic administrative functions in the SPHCM.

About the successful applicant

We are looking for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to contribute to teaching of Indigenous Health in the BIPH as well as other courses within the program. You will have a minimum of a Masters in Public Health or Master of International Public Health or related discipline with a demonstrated experience in curriculum development and teaching at a tertiary level. Ideally, you will also have familiarity with teaching in an online environment, supporting students to learn collaboratively in this context and an emerging track record in peer-reviewed publications and some grant success.  In addition, you will have strong communication, organisation and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently in a goal-directed manner as well as collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have public health teaching and/or research strength in one or more of the following areas:

  • Indigenous Health
  • Epidemiology
  • Biostatistics
  • Environmental Health
  • Policy and Programs
  • International Public Health
