The Division of External Relations operates on a distributed service model where teams deliver strategic and tactical services to faculties or to the University and are supported by a “creative agency” operation that provides marketing and communication services across UNSW.


About the role

The Senior Marketing Officer will support the External Relations Senior Business Partner, in overseeing the development and delivery of the Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion’s External Relations objectives. The role will coordinate the delivery of high-quality marketing, communications, advertising, publications, branding, events and marketing services to the Business Unit from the Division of External Relations and external partner agencies

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A relevant degree with substantial experience in marketing or communications management or an equivalent level of industry knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.

• Excellent relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful outcomes.

• Demonstrated success in developing and coordinating integrated marketing and communication plans or campaigns that have a direct impact on achieving targets.

• Proven ability to coordinate large, complex and strategic marketing and/or communications projects.

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of marketing and communications strategies, channels and tools – campaigns, advertising, direct marketing, eDMs, public relations, media, digital, social media.

• Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with proven attention to accuracy and detail.

• Experience managing relationships and projects with agencies and other external suppliers
